Bright Side Youth Ranch is a ministry in York County, South Carolina, that provides a unique setting where kids who are dealing with life challenges can feel the love and attention of a caring adult mentor, a horse, and a Savior who loves them beyond measure. Bright Side Youth Ranch serves children and teens ages eight to 18 that are experiencing crisis, trauma, and both ongoing and current life challenges.
Bright Side Youth Ranch received a grant from SCCF for Hope Bags, a tangible resource given to each child or teen as they complete sessions at the ranch. Hope Bags are designed to provide the participants with tools to take the recommended next steps in spiritual growth more easily. Each box is customized to connect with their cognitive, emotional, and spiritual level of maturity. The impact of Hope Boxes means every child or teen who comes to the ranch can take home resources to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Hope Bags communicate the values of God’s Word, the Gospel, and the values of the ranch that is shared verbally in each session. Each component in the box is strategic, faith-based, and evidence-based to help participants continue forward in growth. As part of the recommended next steps, the elements in each Hope Box include a Bible, a devotional, a journal, a notecard from a mentor, a picture of their favorite horse with a Bible verse, and a token from the ranch.
Last year, Bright Side Youth Ranch provided 74 bags to kids and teens who were involved in programming at the ranch.
“We are so grateful to SCCF for helping Bright Side continue to share the Gospel with hurting hearts through Hope Bags.”
