Spartanburg, SC – December 19, 2024 – South Carolina Christian Foundation (SCCF), an organization devoted to Biblical philanthropy, awarded $300,000 in grants to 60 ministries across the state, including those in Spartanburg, Greenville, York, and surrounding counties, and the Grand Strand area encompassing Horry and Georgetown counties. The grants are part of SCCF’s Community Trust Fund, a fund to which clients and donors can contribute and support Gospel-led ministries serving South Carolina’s most vulnerable populations. Since its inception in 2003, the Community Trust Fund has distributed over $3.8 million to local ministries.

“Each year, by recommendation of our Community Leadership Councils, grants are awarded to ministries to enhance their service and work, to foster greater collaboration for greater impact, and to strengthen their organizations as the hands of feet of Jesus in the community,” explained Bobby McDonald, SCCF President. “Every gift to the Community Trust assists this wonderful work of compassion meeting needs.”

Community Leadership Council members evaluate applications individually and collaborate to discern funding. This year's grants support a multitude of causes, including children’s evangelism, equipping and discipleship, addiction, recovery, and basic needs. McDonald continued, “The Community Trust is truly the intersection of two SCCF initiatives, Ministry to Ministries and the Community Leadership Council. Throughout the year, SCCF brings ministry leaders together for encouragement and collaboration through Ministry to Ministries while the Community Leadership Councils help SCCF understand their individual organizational needs.”

South Carolina Christian Foundation also founded Circle 555, a women's giving circle that unites Christian women to give collectively to ministries serving women, children, and families. Earlier this year, Circle 555 chapters statewide awarded $234,000 to ministries sharing the Gospel of Jesus.

Our partnership with SCCF for our Donor Advised Fund has helped us expand and grow our giving opportunities with “Kingdom-focused” ministries.

Through SCCF’s great support and service, Circle 555 in York County has made a Kingdom-minded impact on our community. I give to many nonprofit organizations, and without hesitation, I would recommend SCCF to manage gifts in an impactful manner that is pleasing to God.

Having participated in Gatekeepers for a few years, I have found the fellowship, accountability, and community with Christian brothers to be life-giving, edifying, and enriching. I would encourage anyone considering Gatekeepers to try it. You will be blessed beyond expectation.

Because SCCF is mission-focused and Christ-centered, my husband and I prayerfully decided to invest our charitable funds with them and participate in their ministries. We feel confident our investment works for God’s glory and His Kingdom.

SCCF has become a valued and trusted resource for Christians focused on building God’s Kingdom through faithful stewardship and generous giving in York, Chester, and Lancaster counties.

The greatest blessing for me in Circle 555 is partnering with Christian women from our community to support local ministries with our grants, gifts, and prayers and then hearing stories of how the Lord has changed lives and impacted families through these ministries.
